By this weekend, all of Destin and the surrounding communities will be alight with twinkling displays of holiday cheer.
The Christmas cheer that comes this time each year will be easy to spot amidst the well-lit parks and shopping centers, town centers and front lawns. You can probably see our holiday spirit from space!
One Display Stands Out…
In the nearby town with the Seussian name of Niceville, “Geek Lights on the Corner 2016” will be viewable until January 4th.
Geek Lights is one couple’s take on the traditional Christmas light display with a 21st Century Spin!
Jeff Werner, a columnist for the Northwest Florida Daily News, online at ItsGeekToMe.co, and in other newspapers across the country, and his wife Wendy, make sure that there is no digital divide when it comes to holiday displays along the Gulf Coast.
A music and lights display like none other, the free show at the corner of Bluewater Boulevard and Antiqua Way in Bluewater Bay will satisfy the digital techno-geek in your holiday travel troupe!
Controlled by computer, synchronized to stories and music, the seventh annual display features 85,000 lights, nearly 300 computer controlled circuits, and a new story to open the show featuring several holiday favorites.
Shows begin at 6 pm on the hour and half hour with the last show at 9:30 pm Sundays through Thursdays and 10:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
